Project Understanding is a non-profit organization located in the backyard of Riviera Bronze in Ventura, California. Serving all of Ventura County, the non-profit is a support system for those in need of food, shelter, education, and so much more. Riviera Bronze learned of Project Understanding just a few short years ago and knew immediately that we needed to do whatever we could to support such an amazing organization and their efforts to improve the daily lives of people living in an already tight-knit community.
For the last three years, Riviera Bronze has hosted a canned food drive at each of their factory locations in support of Project Understanding. In our first year of participation, we filled one large box. Last year, we succeeded in filling two boxes full of non-perishable foods, and successfully filled three boxes this holiday season. The contributions made by all of our employees are the reason why Riviera Bronze can continue to support Project Understanding as the only local business running a food drive in their name.
Janine Dykstra, Program Manager at Project Understanding, oversees the food pantry and sees on a daily basis the incredible need for donations. She says the food pantry is in almost constant need of new volunteers, but is grateful to those who currently offer their time to help.
While we are proud of our efforts as a company, we are even more proud to contribute to an organization that truly symbolizes the neighborly and good natured part of our community. Project Understanding reminded us this past holiday season that there are people not only in Ventura, but all across the country and world who are in constant wonder of where their next meal will come from or where they will be sleeping that night. At Riviera Bronze, we hope to continue supporting Project Understanding and their cause for many, many years to come.
